Minister of Labor Luis Ernesto Carles said that a commission will be installed in July to review the minimum wage in the country.

Every two years this tripartite commission, comprised of workers, employers and the government, is formed. The last adjustment to the minimum wage went into effect in January 2014.

"The minimum wage is reviewed every two years and in July the commission will be installed to set new rates," stressed the official Friday.

Carles explained that the new rates will reflect the increase in commercial activity.

Workers have said that they will ask for a living wage that provides them with dignity and respects their rights.
