Officers from the National Migration Institute (INM) arrested 25 people who remained illegally at the Cancun tourist resort, in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo, said the media today.
INM officers along with members of the municipal police carried out an operation yesterday at the hotel Los Cuates, where they found 10 men,14 women and a child from Nicaragua, El Salvador and Honduras.
None of them had documents to prove a legal residence in the country, said the digital version of the newspaper La Jornada.
According to their statements, these people from Central America arrived in Cancun on Friday June 26, seeking to reach the United States.
