Brazilian parliamentarians resumed today the discussion and further vote on a labor outsourcing bill, while unions opposing it are announcing new protests.

Eduardo Cunha, leader of the Chamber of Deputies, highlighted yesterday the resumption of discussions on amendments to the bill, presented by Arthur Maia, parliamentarian from the party Solidarity and supported by opposition parties and the Democratic Movement (PMDB).

The parliamentarian discussion on the initiative, which extends labor outsourcing to all sectors, was postponed last week due to the demonstrations across the country against the measure, staged by social movements.

According to union leaders, the measure, voted for the first time two weeks ago by 324 votes in favor, 137 against and two abstentions, is considered a backward step that would jeopardize the achievements reached by workers in the last 11 years.
