On 19 March, 30.000 workers of Ecopetrol and contractors companies of the state oil will join the national strike called by the Unitary Central of Workers (CUT, for its acronym in Spanish) and trade unions in the energy sector.

Edwin Castaño Monsalve, president of the USO, said they have not yet determined whether that day started the indefinite strike called by their union or mill be programmed for another day before March 26, the day of the shareholders of Ecopetrol assembly.

According to the leader, the oil crisis, generated by the low price of oil, would eliminate 25,000 jobs in the country, of which 4,000 would be in Santander.
