The business leaders presented the president with a document outlining the concerns of employers, such as legal security, delays in the approval of state paperwork and late payments from state entities that amount to more than $1 billion.
The president acknowledged that some delays have been experienced in the start of public projects, but pointed out that it was necessary to do so to improve fiscal management.
He also highlighted the efforts being made to improve the quality of education, including the construction of technical colleges and the expansion of English language training programs.
Varela was accompanied by Minister of Commerce Melitón Arrocha, Government Innovation Authority Administrator Irving Halman and Comptroller Federico Humbert.
