The Venezuelan government has implemented a rescue plan in Ford Motors de Venezuela, which will help the company to keep operating until the end of 2015 and to recover approximately 12,000 direct and indirect jobs, according to the assembly plan, Gilberto Troya, the chair of the company's trade union, reported.
The trade unionist explained that under this plan the government injected funds to buy assembly material. This will help produce 400-600 units in September.
"For this year, production is estimated at 5,000 units, very low as compared to previous years," he said, dismissing a potential shutdown of the company.
"As part of a dialogue with the national government, the plant could remain open and the possibility of a shutdown was ruled out; although minimal, production will allow the company to keep on running," he added.
