In order to protect 100,000 jobs in car assembling companies based in Venezuela, and ensure labor stability, Cristian Pereira, the President of the United Federation of Automobile, Auto Parts and Other Workers (Futaac), endorsed the decision of selling car units in dollars, initially brought forward by the Ford Motors de Venezuela trade union, represented by its Secretary General, Gilberto Troya.
Pereira is also a spokesperson for the Chrysler de Venezuela workers union, and added that this car company will also support the measure of invoicing its vehicles in dollars, as well as General Motors de Venezuela.
The Chrysler's workers union will meet with the executives of the company to present them the trade union agreement, for it to be endorsed by the company.
Pereira explained that for that decision to be unanimous, the trade unions of Toyota de Venezuela and Mitsubishi Motors de Venezuela had to endorse the proposal.
